FIA GT Championship
After proving that he was a front line driver on the Spanish race track in Barcelona, Matteo Bobbi triumphs once again in Magny-Cours, driving a Ferrari 550 Maranello. Alfacam are covering the 2003 FIA GT Championship with two Gigawave D-Cam digital wireless camera systems. The D-Cams are used to provide live coverage of action in the Pit-lane as well as for interviews before, during, and after the race.

In addition to wireless camera systems, Gigawave have also supplied Alfacam with the microwave links used to transmit live on-board camera pictures and audio from each of the cars up to a helicopter from which they are re-transmitted to Alfacam's digital OB truck.

Belgium base Alfacam operate some of the most advanced digital OB trucks in the world. Alfacam's OB10 was used for the last Winter Oly and three HDTV truck were used for the 2002 FIFA Worldcup, two in KOrea and one in Japan.

Irish Grand National
Timbera won this years Powers Irish Grand National in a photo finish from Knock Knock at Fairyhouse. As Timbera with jockey Jim Culloty entered the 'Winners Enclosure' anaother winning combination, a Steadicam mounted D-Cam wireless camera, was there to greet them.
Apart froim the Winners Enclosure, the D-Cam was to be seen in the Parade Ring before the race. Television Mobiles who covered the race also used the D-Cam extensively for interviews and the presentations.



Bart Arnold who, together with Helen Arnold, formed TVM in 1986 was delighted with the results and plans to use the same winning combination for the 'Punchestown Races'.

'Arctic Challenge'
Daring camerawoman Kristina donned her skis to capture some dramatic shots of snowboarders competing in the 'Arctic Challenge' recently held in Trysil, Norway. Using a hand held Gigawave D-Cam wireless camera Kristina followed the competitors as they raced down over the jumps.
Oslo based OB-Team AS have now successfully used the D-Cam for indoor handball, outdoor snowboard and football and as you can see from the smile on Kristina's face are pretty happy with the results!

Royal Connections
Belgium's Prince Laurent married British-born Claire Coombs in Brussels at a civil ceremony in the Brussels town hall recently. The wedding party then gathered for a religious service at the nearby Roman Catholic cathedral.
The event was covered by 'Outside Broadcast' a facilities company based near Brussels that
specialises in providing international broadcast services, using their latest serial digital OB van.

Mingling amongst the guests was a Gigawave D-Cam digital wirless camera, the output of which seamlessly integrated into Outside Broadcast's digital truck. The D-Cam was used to provide live coverage from both inside and outside the church.

Grand Prix
of Japan
Dorna Sports, the Spanish company who have the TV and Marketing rights for FIM Road Racing events are using a Gigawave MTV-D digital transmitter in conjunction with their Pit-lane camera for this years 500cc, 250cc, and 125cc World Championship. Using only a fixed fanbeam antenna and MVL-D RX the cameraman is free to go inside any of the 'boxes'.

Gigawave have built up a relationship with Dorna over recent years through supplying links for Dorna's on-board camera systems. Currently Dorna are upgrading the moto TX with a specially designed version of the MTV 'Mini' transmitter
