Bentley Wins 24 Heures du Mans
Performance and Reliability - the winning combination!

For the first time in 73 years Bentley has won the Le Mans 24-Hours race. Bentley #7, driven by Denmark's Tom Kristensen, Guy Smith, and Rinaldo Capello, took the chequered flag after leading the race for 22 of the 24 hours

It takes courage stamina and determination to complete the grueling 24 hour Le Mans endurance race. However, in order to win a driver like Tom Kristensen needs a car with the requisite performance and reliability backed by a dedicated team of engineers.

'Vin quatre heures du Mans' is also demanding on the TV crews that cover the race and they also need equipment with the requisite performance and reliability. LJ Electronic, the Copenhagen based production facilities company that covered the race for Danish broadcaster TV2 depended entirely on their D-Cam wireless camera system to cover the Pit-lane action as is happened.

LJ Electronic chose the D-Cam partly because of the exceptional RF performance, partly because of the proven reliability of Gigawave products, and partly because to the unique level of customer support that Gigawave offers all its customers.

The outstanding performance of the D-Cam is such that a cameraman is free to go anywhere in the pit-lane, or film in any of the individual team 'boxes', without having to worry about the picture breaking up or loss of signal. Above all the D-Cam never missed a beat throughout the entire race.

The D-Cam is already a familiar site in Pit-lanes at motor racing circuits around the world, as these news pages testify but Le Mans is the ultimate test of any wireless camera system

'State of Origin' - Rugby League
The State Of Origin concept is that you are eligible to play for a state/region is this is where you played your first senior rugby league game. The 'State of Origin' games between New South Wales and Queensland have surpassed all expectations to become one of the premier events on the Australian sporting calendar.
The first State of Origin in 1980 was greeted with indifference by the rugby league community of NSW. In Queensland it was received with electric anticipation. The first sign of what was to come was the size of the crowd that walked-up to Lang Park for the Origin debut night - 35,000 Queenslanders! Instead of the normal 5,000 or so which had come to be expected at inter-state games, this crowd took the rugby league administrators by surprise.

BnC Television Services are supplying two digital D-Cam wireless camera systems for each of the three games, which are broadcast live by Channel Nine. The D-Cams will be used for 'Line-ups', following the players in and out of the tunnel, and of course the match itself. At the first match a D-Cam was also used to interview Queensland's Wally Lewis, a veteran of 31 'Origin' games

The first and last games of the three-match serites are being played this year at Lang Park. With a capacity crowd of over 52,000 the redeveloped Lang Park is both an intimate and intimidating venue, especially for wireless camera systems! Not even the stadium’s overhanging roof, which at night gives the impression you in an indoor venue, effects the performance of the D-Cam.

Like the first 'State of Origin' Game the D-Cam has exceeded all expectations

Countdown to Euro 2004
Fifty of UEFA’s 51 member associations were included in the draw for EURO 2004, with hosts Portugal qualifying automatically. Fifteen teams will qualify to join Portugal in the finals
With Euro 2004 just a year away the excitement is already building up with just fifteen of the original fifty going through to the final tournament. On Saturday 07 June Ireland Albania 2-1 at Landsdown Road, whilst Scotland drew with Germany 1-1 at Hampden Park.

D-Cam wireless camera systems supplied by Broadcast RF were used extensively throughout the live coverage of both matches. As one broadcaster commented, " We can send the camera almost anywhere in and around the stadium. When you are in the OB Truck, The pictures are so stable we forget that it is a wireless camera."

Expect to see a lot more live pictures from the D-Cam as the tournament proceeds.
