Gigawave On-board Systems star rain or shine!
Heavy rain and bright sunshine were no bother for Gigawave’s Digital On-board Camera Systems as they caught the live action and excitement of the MotoGP and FIA GT and GT3 Championships. The FIA GT and GT3 Championship headed to Italy and a sun-baked Monza while the MotoGP British Grand Prix at Donnington Park was a rather wetter affair.
The varied conditions showed just how durable Gigawave’s Digital On-board Camera System is. Both events had excellent track coverage without the need of a helicopter.

Casey Stoner extended his MotoGP Championship lead with a stunning victory on his Ducati in treacherous conditions, which saw many riders fall during the weekend.

The fourth race of the FIA GT Championship saw the fourth different winner, the Jetalliance Aston Martin DBR9. It is also the first time that an Aston Martin DBR9 has won this season. The Gigawave sponsored Lamborghini Murcielago, secured a top-ten finish with some fine driving despite starting from the back of the grid.
In the FIA GT3 Championship, the Gigawave supported Damax Ascari team, saw its KZ-1R #28 car grab sixth place in Race 1, while in Race 2, car #30 finished 18th.

24 Heures Du Mans is easy for the D-Cam
The Le Mans 24-hour race is one of the most famous motor races in the world and Gigawave was there to catch the action. European rental house, LJ Elektronik used their Gigawave D-Cam system during the event for TV2 Denmark’s coverage.

The wireless system provided complete coverage of the pitlane area, allowing the cameramen to capture all the action. Gigawave D-Cam Digital Wireless Camera Systems are used at most major motorsports events, including Formula 1, MotoGP and the FIA GT and GT3 Championships.

The 24 hour endurance race was won by the diesel powered Audi No 1 R10, driven by Frank Biela, Marco Werner and Emmanuelle Pirro. It was the car and driver's second win in a row and Audi’s seventh victory overall at the legendary event.

Broadcast Asia 2007
Gigawave’s HD D-Cam was demonstrated live to visitors at Broadcast Asia 2007 in Singapore. Full coverage of the exhibition hall was achieved through the system, providing perfect live, HD footage.
Gigawave exhibited a wide range of its product range at the exhibition in Singapore and visitors to the show were able to see for themselves the stunning quality of the HD D-Cam Digital Wireless Camera System.
John Rolfe, Gigawave’s Director of Sales and Marketing, who is at the show, said it had been a great start. “It’s been very busy, and we’ve seen huge interest in our HD systems already. The product’s quality is second to none and it’s great to be able to demonstrate this to the show’s visitors.”

Gigawave digital On-board goes green
Gigawave’s digital on-board camera systems captured Motorsport history as a bio-ethanol powered car won a British GT motor race for the first time. The Energy Efficient Motorsport backed Aston Martin DBRS9 of Paul Drayson and Jonathan Cocker won Round 5 of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Snetterton.

Barwell Motorsport and Aston Martin Motorsport jointly developed the car, which runs on E85 (a blend of 85% bio-ethanol and 15% petrol) and requires a new fuel tank and fuel system to cope with the different properties of bio-ethanol.

Paul Drayson, who has funded the project, said “We’re doing this to show the potential of how we think this can be the way forward in Motorsport. In a car as beautiful as the Aston Martin, with all the grunt, power and excitement we’ve shown that you can be green and on the pace, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Gigawave's digital On-board systems were in action at the MotoGP Gran Premio d’Italia where the 5 times World Champion Valentino Rossi got back to winning ways on his Fiat Yamaha, the sixth time in a row that Rossi has won his home race at Mugello.
