Gigawave’s digital on-board system wows the Zhuhai crowd on its racing debut
The latest Gigawave digital on-board system made its racing debut at the first round of the 2007 FIA GT Championship at Zhuhai in China. The spectacular images were incorporated into the live event broadcast with shots displayed on the large screens around the track, giving the crowd the opportunity to see the drivers in action.
Gigawave are providing digital on-board systems for the full FIA GT Championship, allowing broadcasters to use live footage from inside the car as well as on the cars exterior. The cameras are remotely operated so that the Director can pick the perfect shot and give the audience the feeling that they are part of it all.

The Gigawave sponsored Aston Martin DBR9 made a solid debut finishing 8th in the two-hour race at Zhuhai in China, despite starting from 14th on the grid.

The All-inkl.com Lamborghini Murciélago was the eventual winner after tactically pitting early to be out in front when the other cars pitted. It was their first ever win in the FIA GT Championship.

D-Cam comes out for Mardi Gras
The Gigawave D-Cam was part of the fun at the 20th annual Mardi Gras festival in Sydney, Australia where over 300 000 people gathered to take part in the party atmosphere.

Australian company, Blacksheep Productions were given the task of providing official coverage of the parade, which lasted over four hours. Festival organisers were keen to minimise cabling wherever possible because of the liveliness of the parade and the numbers of people expected.

Director Ben Alcott chose to integrate Blacksheep’s Gigawave D-Cam systems into the multi camera coverage to provide a complete solution, and the client could not have been happier with the performance.

Two additional D-Cams were used for the Webcast coverage of the event.

TV2 News Denmark helps welcome 'Emma' home
The homecoming of the world’s largest containership, 'Emma', was a proud moment for Denmark, and one that broadcaster TV2 News simply could not afford to miss.
Using their helicopter, equipped with the Gigawave helicopter digital downlink system, live images of the 'Emma' were relayed back to TV2 in Odense.

The helicopter, which is used for newsgathering by TV2 News, was supplied by Thomas Kristensen who, together with Gigawave, pioneered the use of digital airborne microwave link systems in Denmark.
The Maersk owned, 'Emma' is 397 metres long and can carry over 11 000 containers at any time. She was filmed being towed out through a series of channels, barely big enough to take the 56 metre wide vessel.

”The HD-Cam is available to buy from Gigawave, or an SD Clip-On can be upgraded to high-definition.
