TWS Signs High Definition D-Cam Deal
TWS (Total World Sports) have placed an order for an undisclosed number of HD D-Cam systems, in preparation for the forthcoming season. Delivery is scheduled for the end of this year.
TWS's founder, Anthony Woolhouse (seen here shaking hands on the deal with Gigwave's Sales and Marketing Director, John Rolfe) is a man that has a reputation for only buying the best.

"Our experience has shown that the D-Cam is undoubtedly the best wireless camera system on the market today and, from what I have seen, have no doubt that the high definition version is going to be be every bit as good."

In addition to the systems that the company has already ordered, TWS has an option on a number of additional systems, for delivery early next year.

Goodbye to the Cable Guy
The place to be in Auckland on Tuesday 20 Sepember was the Royal Yacht Squadron. It was here, alongside the Westhaven Marina, that New Zealand facilities company, BCL proposed a farewell toast to the cable guy!
The get together was not only an opportunity to toast the end of an era - the passing of the cable guy. It was also a chance to see BCL's newly arrived D-Cam wireless camera system and digital helicam links in action.

Working with 'Heletranz' and 'On Site Broadcasting', guests were able to see a live demonstration showing the production benefits that BCL's new Gigawave digital equipment can offer broadcasters.
Of course, it was also an opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues and have a drink - on BCL

IBC 2005 - A Resounding Success!
With a record number of 42,815 visitors attending IBC 2005, 5% up on last year, the organisers have hailed IBC 2005 as the best show yet'. For Gigawave it was also a resounding success with visitors filling the stand for most of the four day show.
John Rolfe, Gigawave's Sales and Marketing Director, was clearly delighted with the impressive number of enquiries generated by the show.

"This was my first IBC since I joined Gigawave last September and I am more than happy with the level of interest in our growing range of digital products. We have a full order book stretching into next year and I am confident the enquiries that the Gigawave sales team took at this year's show will keep the factory busy well into 2006."

Whilst a lot of visitors to the stand were interested in our new Digital 'Mini' transmitter, the star of the show was clearly the new low delay D-Cam 'Clip-on' wireless camera system. With superior RF performance, a delay of just one frame (40ms) and an optional diversity receiver the best just got better!"

When testing the new system using 16 QAM modulation, the system worked perfectly everywhere in Hall 1. In the circumstances, Sales and Markerting Director, John Rolfe did not risk testing the system in QPSK, just in case the cameraman got lost!

16th Asian Athletics Championships
Amidst the deafening sounds of firecrackers and drums, the 16th Asian Athletics Championships was inaugurated by Incheon Mayor Ahn Sang Soo at an impressive opening ceremony.
The grand spectacle, watched by nearly 25,000 spectators, culminated in a show of South-North solidarity as South Korean marathoner Lee Bong Joo lighted the cauldron along with North Korean distance runner Han Bong Sil. It was a moment that drew spontaneous applause from an appreciative audience that had earlier enthusiastically welcomed the North Korean contingent at the march past.

Seoul based, Wave Communication Co., supplied the D-Cam wireless camera system that was used by host broadcaster KBS, to provide live coverage of the event.
