D-Cam on the Front Row of the Grid
D-Cam wireless camera systems were in pole position, alongside the Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher for the start of the Turkish Grand Prix.
In Monza, two weeks later, Kimi Raikkonen qualified in Pole Position to steal the limelight from Ferrari on their home circuit. However, the D-Cam was equally at home alongside the Raikkonen's Mclaren Mercedes as it was the Ferrari.

Thanks to the legendry performance of the D-Cam, it has become the wireless camera system of choice when the eyes of the world are watching!

Podium Wins for Damax Ascari in Mugello
Damax Ascari came second in both races in Mugello at the final round of the inaugural FIA GT3 European Championship. After missing the previous round at Dijon, the team had a successful return despite heavy rain throughout the weekend.

As well as picking up second place in both hour long races they finished each race with two cars in the top ten and were on pole position for Race 1

The event also saw Gigawave providing live pictures of the races and qualifying which were streamed live on the Internet through www.srolive.tv and www.worldsportslive.tv, with many viewers commenting about the fantastic quality of the images. Cameras were placed on Damax Ascari car 45 and BMS Scuderia Aston Martin car 23 and also in the pit-lane and streamed digitally online.

FIA GT3 European Championship Race 9- Mugello
Car 46, driven by Matt Allison and Andy Thompson battled through heavy rain and darkness to grab a spot on the podium, after starting the race from the fourth row of the grid.

Andy Thompson who drove in the latter part of the race seemed to get faster and faster and produced the quickest lap time, completing the drenched circuit in 2.18 minutes. It was a real battle between him and Sean Edwards in the Tech 9 Motorsport Porsche 997 with the Damax Ascari almost catching up but just running out of time when the Chequered Flag was waved. The winning distance was only 2.37 seconds for Edwards’ Porsche which Thompson had cut down from 10 seconds in just 7 laps.

Many drivers were surprised that the race wasn’t abandoned because of the awful conditions and large amount of surface water on the track. It was this water that robbed Damax Ascari of winning the race. Ben Collins had driven brilliantly from pole position in Car 47 until co-driver Klaas Zwart unfortunately spun while in the lead as the rain lashed down. However he managed to continue and finished in 6th place.

Car 45 driven by Aaron Scott and Stuart Turvey had a disappointing day finishing in 19th position after having problems during qualifying.

FIA GT3 European Championship Race 10- Mugello
Damax Ascari took second spot for the second race running at a wet Mugello.

And again it was Car 46 driven by Andy Thompson and Matt Allison that raced the Porsche of Tech 9 Motorsport to the wire. Unfortunately they couldn’t quite get past Sean Edwards and Phil Keen who again took the Chequered Flag this weekend. The victory also crowned Sean Edwards as the inaugural FIA GT3 Champion.

Starting from the 3rd row of the grid Andy Thompson had fought his way into the lead after only 3 laps and managed to build up a good lead over Edwards’ Porsche as the race progressed.

Car 45 driven by Stuart Turvey and Aaron Scott came in 8th place, a big improvement on 19th position in the previous race. They started on the 12th row of the grid and some good driving managed to get them through the chasing pack.

Klaas Zwart and Ben Collins had a rather disappointing day in Car 47 and retired with twenty minutes to go after one bump too many in the slippery conditions.

After the disappointment of missing the previous round at Dijon, this was a successful way to wrap up the GT3 season for Damax Ascari, collecting two second places and a pole position as well as having the fastest car in Friday’s practice.

Team manager Robin Ward felt that the Ascari cars proved how good they are over the weekend…

IBC 2006 - Best Ever for Gigawave
"Delighted" was the word that summed up IBC 2006 for Gigawave Sales and Marketing Director, John Rolfe. Delighted with, "Both the number and quality of visitors to the Gigawave stand, and, in particular the interest in the new Gigawave D-Cam HD 'Clip-on'!"
The star of this year's show was undoubtedly the new D-Cam HD 'Clip-on' wireless camera system, which is identical, In terms of size and weight, to the SD version. The performance is pretty impressive too!

Several times a day, during the show, a member of the Gigawave sales team, would take the new HD 'Clip-on' on a tour of Hall 1 with no loss of picture quality. On one occasion prior to the show he even took the HD 'Clip-on' outside the gates of the RAI complex and down the street before the signal started to break up!
This year, in addition to the extensive range of Gigawave products. Gigawave displayed three products developed specially for RF Central, Gigawave's partner in the United States.

The dedicated range of RF Central products was specifically designed to meet the requirements of the 'Nextel' BAS frequency re-allocation. However, RF Central products are available in the USA, and other markets, for other applications.

The Gigawave stand at IBC 2006 was larger than previous years, allowing more space to be devoted to the ever growing range of Gigawave products. The stand also provided plenty of informal discussion areas where Gigawave staff were able to demonstrate the benefits of Gigawave Products.

The extra space was a shrewd investment as. For most of the exhibition, the stand was packed with visitors, in part thanks to the record attendance. Many of the vistors to the Gigawave stand were existing customers, but a large percentage were new to Gigawave.
