HD On-boards pass track test
Gigawave’s development of On-board cameras has added a new dimension to race coverage, providing the most spectacular live racing shots from around the circuit. The natural progression for the On-board Camera, after its switch to digital, is to now go HD.

Gigawave, who supply On-board systems to leading worldwide race series including MotoGP have been developing a high-definition system, which will be used in the 2008 FIA GT Championship. This system was successfully tested onboard the Gigawave MotorSport Aston Martin DBR9 at Snetterton Circuit in preparation for the season opener on 20th April at Silverstone.

The stunning quality live HD footage maximised the impact of the On-board Cameras to the viewer. Race activity becomes even clearer and real, an appreciation for the skill and stamina of the driver emerges and the team’s sponsor’s logos also stand out more, maximising their exposure.
Motorsport is one of the most visually exciting sporting events, especially on television, where the viewer can experience the thrill of the ride as if they were on-board themselves. It is a spectacle that deserves to be viewed in high-definition and the wait is almost over.
