Airborne Ground Surveillance & Reconnaissance (AGSR)
Real-time AGSR downlinks are becoming increasingly popular with security organisations around the world. Capable of delivering high-quality EO/IR images over considerable distances (depending on terrain), decision-makers on the ground can now see what the gimbal operator sees. Gigawave specialists have first hand experience of designing AGSR downlinks for use in theatres where 100% operational availability is essential.

Police Command & Control
Air Support Units (ASUs) are playing an increasingly important role in modern policing. Gone are the days when officers had to make important decisions based on a verbal description of what was happening on the ground. Now, high-quality images are beamed directly from Police Helicopters to 'Command And Control' centres, enabling senior officers to see for themselves what's happening and make the appropriate decisions. Added to this, Police Officers on the ground, equipped with small hand-held receivers (c/w integral LCD display) are now able to see the same real-time images.
Gigawave engineers have worked closely with one UK's largest police forces to help develop what is undoubtedly one of the most sophisticated Command and Control system in the world.

Maritime Reconnaissance
With piracy and smuggling on the increase, security organisations, drug enforcement agencies, fishery protection, coastguard, and customs officials are making use of long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft to patrol oceans and their territorial waters. Using digital microwave downlinks, it is now possible for real-time EO/IR images to be analysed by teams of security specialists on dry land.

UAV/UGV
UAVs are becoming increasingly sophisticated and are the platform of choice in theatres where conventional AGSR aircraft and their crews are at risk. Equipped with small lightweight transmitters, UAVs provide decision-makers on the ground with high-quality real-time EO/IR images. In addition to conventional UAVs, a new generation of Micro Air Vehicles (MAV) small enough to be 'man-portable', will transform aerial reconnaissence. Meanwhile, Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), are doing a similar job on the ground.

Covert Surveillance
Gigawave mini transmitters and receivers are ideal for many forms of covert surveillance. Small, rugged, and featuring the latest digital RF technology, Gigawave mini transmitters can be deployed quickly and easily and then left, quietly feeding images to a specially equipped surveillance vehicle, briefcase receiver, or even a hand held receiver with integral LCD display.

Terrestrial Point-to-Point Links
Gigawave terrestrial links have a reputation for reliability and performance. That is why they are used to relay programme feeds from sporting venues to a Broadcasters 'Master Control' facility. Manufactured to the same high standards, Gigawave's MIL Series point-to-point links are no exception. Designed to operate in extreme climatic conditions without problem, you can always rely on them.
